In the hut next door, we see the batteries used to store electricity during the day in order to light the compound at night.
Nd receives some sun almost every day of the year, enough to charge the batteries.  Occasionally, during the northeast monsoon, there is a depression in the Bay of Bengal that results in 3-4 days of clouds such that less electricity is generated.  These days, the diesel generator (run without diesel, using gobar gas and honge oil)  is used to supplement the solar power.
